An online AR exhibition as a platform for artists to express their protest after Donald Trump’s election.
States of Mind
In the aftermath of Donald Trump’s 2016 election, we teamed up with Tony Grayson to give artists a platform to protest against the hatred, bigotry and racism promoted by the new president. Thirty artists, either born or living in the US, were featured in an augmented reality gallery in the form of a temporary website.
The deconstructed flag acted as a platform that offers a glimpse into the minds of those who are responding to the climate of that time. Each time the viewer scanned the deconstructed flag, they experienced a different piece of art created by one of the artists whose mission is broad and interpretable by design; they have been asked to share whatever they would like to express right now.
